Ekbert Faas' books include a study of contemporary American poetics (1978), a Ted Hughes monograph (l980), a biography of Robert Duncan (l983), a study of tragedy in Euripides, Shakespeare, Goethe (l984), Shakespeare's Poetics (Cambridge, l986), Victorian Poetry and the Rise of Psychiatry (Princeton, l988), and most recently, a historical novel, Woyzeck's Head (Cormorant, l991).
