Michael Gregory has taught at universities in Britain, Europe, Africa, China, and North America. He is the co-author of Linguistics and Style (l964) and Language and Situation (l978), author of What is Good English? A Linguist's View (l969), English Patterns (l972), and Before and Toward Communication Linguistics (1995). He co-edited Discourse and Society, 1995. He has authored many articles on linguistic, literary and social topics.
