Profile

Shannon Bell is a fast feminist immersion philosopher who lives and writes philosophy in action. Her books include Reading, Writing and Rewriting the Prostitute Body (Indiana University Press 1994; Japanese trans.2000), Whore Carnival (Autonomedia/Semiotext 1995), Bad Attitude/s on Trial [co-authored with Brenda Cossman, Lise Gotell, and Becki Ross] (University of Toronto Press, 1997) and Fast Feminism (Autonomedia/Semiotext 2004).

Bell is an associate professor in the York University Political Science Department where she teaches post contemporary theory, fast feminism, sexual politics, cyber politics, identity/post identity politics and violent philosophy.
