Karen Robson
Ph.D. (Essex),
Assistant Professor (Arts), Quantitative Methods, Social Stratification,
Cross-National Comparative Research.
Karen Robson's interests are broadly
in the area of the accumulation of human, social, and cultural
capital over the life course. She is currently researching
the effects of childhood experiences and time use on adult
human, social, and cultural capital using data from a 1970
cohort of British births. She also has ongoing projects in
the area of the predictors and outcomes of teenage pregnancy.
Current
research projects include the effects of adolescent
cultural capital investments on later-life social and human
capital outcomes using Canadian and British cohort data.
Dr. Robson also has considerable interest in the area of statistical
analysis of large scale data sets using the statistical software
program STATA and has taught several instructional courses
in the UK and Central Europe on this topic.
